Obituary: Kathryn (Kathy) Brown Hammer, 1945 ~ 2014 was reunited with her late husband and parents on September 10, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. She passed quietly at home with her family by her side. Kathy was born July 12, 1945 to Bernice Lane and Doyle H. Brown. She was the youngest of five siblings, who nicknamed her "Tudy". She married William Louis Hammer on April 16, 1965. Their marriage produced four children, Todd , Shaun, Shayne , and Tiffany. Her children gave her sixteen wonderful grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren, with three more on the way. She lived a simple life and her favorite times were spent with her family, especially with all the babies. She loved Christmas time and surprising the grandkids with her themed gifts that she spent months planning for. She liked spending time in the mountains and had a fondness for her dogs. She is preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Bernice Brown, husband William Hammer, brother Jerry Brown (Bubba), and sister Lanie Arand. She is survived by her four children and spouses, Todd and Shar, Shaun and Christine, Shayne and Jeanie, and Tiffany (Sissy) and Shane Giffin, and her sisters Jackie and Carma. Mom wished to have her body donated to the University of Utah body donor program for research and education. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a cancer research organization of your choice. The family would like to express their gratitude to IHC Hospice and Home Health for their loving care. There will be an informal gathering in celebration of her life held Sunday, September 14 at the Main Street Park at 8710 South 60 East in Sandy, Utah beginning at 11 am with a barbeque social gathering following until 4 pm.
