ORD — Irma Kruml, 85, of Ord died Saturday, May 15, 2006, at Valley County Health Systems Hospital in Ord. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Burwell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joel Rathbun officiating. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ord Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Kruml was born May 16, 1920, in Custer County to Emil and Anna (Hulinsky) Ruzicka. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Joe Kruml of rural Ord; two daughters and a son-in-law, Diane Zwink of Grand Island and Joyce and Lyle Christensen of Omaha; two sons and two daughters-in law, John and Carolyn Kruml of Holland and Joe and Elaine Kruml of Ord; a brother, Bob Ruzicka of Taylor; and two sisters, Marie Michalski of Ord and Dorothy Frye of Burwell. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, including Ed Swanek of Americas, Kan., who had lived with Joe and Irma, and 13 great-grandchildren. The family moved to different area locations and Irma attended the Rural School Dist. #1 in Garfield County. At the age of 15 she began to work in a Doctor's office and worked as a housekeeper and was a Cook at the Burwell Hospital. Irma married Joe Kruml Nov. 26, 1938, at Ord. The couple moved to Malim, Ore., and lived there until moving back to their new home north of Ord in 1946. She lived there until passing away on Saturday. Irma was a housewife all her married life. She enjoyed housekeeping, sewing, crocheting, gardening and was a great cook. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bill Ruzicka, and a sister, Blanche Oliva.
