Bio
Leonard L. Wichern, 51, of Rt. 3 Grand Island died Wednesday at work. Services are pending at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Mr. Wichern was born June 14, 1930, on a farm near Ashton, the son of Henry and Alma Krumwiede Wichern. He received his education at rural school near Ashton and grew up in that area. He farmed in the Farwell area until 1963. Lately he had been working at Cyprus Industries in Grand Island. He married Linda George on Oct. 28, 1966, at Hastings. They made their home in the Grand Island area. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and Eagles Aerie No. 378, both of Grand Island. Survivors include his widow; a son, Steven, at home; four brothers, Earl of Wood River, Wilhelm of Wood River, and Andrew and Gerald, both of Lompoc, Calif., and two sisters, Judy Brown of Hastings and Lucille Bruns of Wood River.
