Hastings, Nebraska resident, Judy H. (Stenka) Brown, died Saturday, December 14, 2013. Judy was born on October 29, 1941 on a farm near Ashton, Nebraska to Henry A. & Alma E. (Krumwiede) Wichern. On June 14, 1960 she married Virgil L. Stenka and their marriage ended in April of 1981. She married Robert Brown on October 30, 1981 and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2010. Judy worked in various production type jobs, including Hastings Irrigation from February 1983 until her retirement in March of 2005. Judy loved fishing, playing cards, tending her roses and her family. She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Eagles Aerie #592 Auxiliary in Hastings. Judy was preceded in death by: parents; husbands, Virgil Stenka (1983) and Robert Brown (2010); infant daughter, Wanda Stenka; daughter, Elaine Haller; brothers, Benjamin, Earl, Leonard, Wilhelm and Andrew Wichern; sisters, Rose Marie Wichern, Eileen Schwartz and Lucille Bruns. SURVIVORS: Sons & Daughter-in-law: Roy Stenka – Omaha, NE James & Cheryl Stenka – Trumbull, NE Daughters & Sons-in-law: Laura Hamilton – Hastings, NE Joan Heying – Commerce, CO June & Norm Schiffler – Hastings, NE Robin & Robert Sommerhalder – Clay Center, NE Grandchildren: 17 Great-Grandchildren: 13 Brother & Sister-in-law: Gerald & Concha Wichern – Lompoc, CA Burial was in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
