Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church ~ Plasi, Nebraska Joseph E. Sousek, 92 of Plasi, NE, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln. Joe was born on July 5, 1922 in Prague, NE to Frank J. and Anna (Vanek) Sousek. He attended District 84 country school near Plasi. Joe served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps until he was honorably discharged. On November 9, 1948, he was united in marriage to Anastasia Divis at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. Joe was a lifelong farmer, devoted husband, caring father and grandfather. He was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church where he was a choir member for many years. He was a Church Trustee for 17 years. He enjoyed tending to his garden, woodworking, and feeding his birds. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anastasia Sousek; children, Mary Jo (Greg) Logsdon of Ashland, Robert (Rose Marie) Sousek of Prague, Kenny (Annette) Sousek of Weston, Karen (Bruce) Tangeman of Papillion, Joanne (Barry) Mosley of Lincoln, Carolyn Sousek and fiancé Tye of Lincoln, Margaret (Dave) Davis of Lakewood, WA, Steve Sousek of Lincoln; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, James Sousek of Wahoo, Frank E. Sousek of Prague, and Victor (Joyce) Sousek of Prague; sister, Betty (Lawrence) Rezac of Valparaiso; numerous nieces and nephews.
