Mother: Baxter, Tenn. Informant: D. C. Brewer [husband] Burial: Mabank, Nov. 9, 1918 Undertaker: Eubank Bros., Mabank, Tex. Norma’s father was born Jonathan Campbell “J. C.” Branch in 1857 in Cocke County, Tenn. His parents were Austin Branch and Levina Bryant . His father was a victim of the Civil War. As a young man, J. C. moved to McKinney, Texas to live with his uncle Aaron Bryant , where he was known as J. C. Large, picking up the last name of the family who raised his orphan father. J. C. was sometimes known as “Cam" or "Camel," an adaptation of his middle name Campbell. J. C. was married to Margaret Baxter, Norma’s mother, who later married J. D. Bryant. Death records of J. C. Large and J. D. Bryant are unavailable.
