Bio
Mr. Billy Walter Hudson was born June 14, 1943 in Carthage, Texas, to Walter and Juanita Lovil Hudson. Billy graduated from Carthage High School and Texas A & M University, earning a degree in civil engineering in 1966. He was licensed in structural engineering. Mr. Hudson spent the first part of his career working in construction for the petrochemical industry. In 1983 he founded Hudson Engineering in Lewisville, Texas. He designed hundreds of projects, including churches, schools, banks, hotels, retail centers, and was one of the first design engineers in the area to embrace and implement computer-aided drafting software within his firm. Billy also worked as a construction manager and was a master builder. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching pro sports, and was passionate about Texas Aggie football. He was generous, engaging, a great storyteller, and loved spending time in the Philippines with his friends. Billy was a Christian, a cancer survivor, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Hudson is survived by sisters Frances Vsetecka and husband, Richard of Dayton, Nancy Hooker and husband, Pike of Longview, Tammye Hudson of Carthage; brothers, Lovil Hudson and wife, Brenda of Tyler, Jerry Hudson and wife, Terri of Carthage; sons, Monty Hudson and wife, Lisa of Arlington, Jason Hudson and wife, Jenny of Flint, Kevin Hudson and wife, Felicia of Grand Prairie, Brad Hudson of West Palm Beach; daughters, Leigh Hudson of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Cammie Vick and husband, Andy of Tampa, Florida, nine grandchildren, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
