Bio

Jeanette Reznicek Matous, 71, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015, in Waxahachie, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2015, in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Jeanette was born in Forney, Texas, to the late Charlie and Carrie (Kuapil) Reznicek. She grew up in Forney and attended Forney High School. On November 22, 1962, she married John G. Matous and they moved to Rice, Texas, where they have remained. Jeanette worked for Rice ISD as a librarian for over 25 years. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, the Altar Society, KJZT and WFLA. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her life. She is preceded into rest by brothers, Charlie and Frank; and a sister, Betty Ann. Survivors include her husband, John G. Matous; sons, John M. Matous and wife, Janet, and Jason Matous and wife, Sharon; daughters, Julie Moore and husband, James, and Jennifer VanZuuk; grandchildren: Lane, Dylan, Hayley, Riley, Trey and Matt; great-grandchild, Jett; brothers, Louis Reznicek and Mike Reznicek; sister, Nancy Reznicek Parker; many other relatives and friends.
