Darrell Dale Gould 69 of Arcadia passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at his home in Arcadia. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 13 at 10:30 am at the Arcadia United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Berry officiating. There will be a private family visitation at the church Thursday, Feb 12 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 and then the family will be greeting friends at the church from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. Burial will be in the Arcadia City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Arcadia Rescue Unit or the Faith Bible Church. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Darrell was born June 20, 1945 in Loup City, NE to Don and Florene (Hunt) Gould. Darrell grew up north of Arcadia on the Gould Farm 5 G Ranch. He attended the Rosebud Country School and the Arcadia Public Schools graduating from Arcadia High School in 1964. Darrell was united in marriage to Charlotte Kay Fleming of Sargent, NE at the Congregational Church in Arcadia, NE. The couple lived in Broken Bow for a short time while Darrell worked for Becton-Dickenson. Due to his father’s health, Darrell and Charlotte moved back to the family farm where they raised three children, Terry, Tina and Trisha. During the early years on the farm, Darrell worked for Middle Loup Irrigation and farmed and ranched, raising hogs and cattle. As the farm-ranch operation expanded Darrell decided to farm full time and increased his cattle herd. In 1994, Darrell’s son Terry, returned to the farm to work side by side with his dad until 2013 when Darrell semi-retired. Darrell and Charlotte purchased a home in Arcadia and moved to town however, Darrell continued to be involved with the farm-ranch operation, especially with heifer development. Darrell was a member of the Faith Bible Church and a past member of the Arcadia Rural Fire Board. Darrell had a deep trust and love for Jesus Christ and a deep desire that all would come to trust in Christ as well. Darrell enjoyed going to the Calamus Lake, going on cruises, local sports, College Sports and Professional Sports including his favorite baseball team the Kansas City Royals. He enjoyed traveling, walking and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his livestock especially caring for his replacement heifers and watching them grow. Survivors include his wife Charlotte of Arcadia; a son and daughter in law, Terry and Nancy Gould of Arcadia; two daughters and son in laws Tina and Bob Lybarger of Odessa, NE and Trisha and David Redding of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren and their spouses Tara and Adam Pickel, Tiffany and Richard Paul, Tamara and Darin Myers, Celeste Gould, Courtney Gould, Katrina Gould; five great-grandchildren Hope, Kyler and Blakely Pickel, Ann Marie Paul and Paecyn Myers; a sister and brother in law Dianne and Dale Coons of Arcadia; his beloved cat “Lucky” three grandcats Smokey, Mocha and Buddy Redding; Darrell was preceded in death by his parents.
