Bio

Kitty Eberhart studied music in Chicago. She was a talented piano player and gave piano lessons. In the 1900 census, her occupation is listed as telephone operator. She worked for years at The Fair, a Lawrence department store, where she trimmed hats. When Kitty was 41 years old, she married Bert Dale, who had children from a previous marriage. Bert owned a printing company at 1027 Massachusetts in Lawrence, Kansas. Kitty and Bert were among the first in Lawrence to have an automobile and each summer they made long auto tours, often taking Kitty's widowed mother with them.
