Bio

Jerry has been cremated and his body will be brought back from Arizona in the spring. Gerald P. Schott, 74, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of the Quad-Cities area, passed away peacefully at Southern Arizona VA Hospital on Feb. 6, 2015. Bring's Broadway Chapel, Tucson, is handling cremation rites. Private services were held with the immediate family, and a memorial service will be held in the Quad-Cities area at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Fund. Jerry was born Oct. 31, 1940, the son of Melvin and Maureen Schott. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a former East Moline firefirefighter and brick mason. He was an accomplished euchre player and enjoyed traveling, fishing and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Patti; five children; four stepchildren; eight grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; and brothers, Jim Schott and Richard Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Hamilton.
