James Henry McMillen, 82, of Nyssa, Oregon, died on January 25, 2015 in Hermiston, Oregon at his son’s home surrounded by close family. James was born on April 22, 1932 in Nampa, Idaho to Cecil and Opal “Eshelman” McMillen. He grew up in Kansas, moving back to Oregon in his late teens. He met his wife Donna Pauline Marsh and they were married on January 7, 1951. They began their life together in Nyssa where they decided to raise their family. They had two children, a boy and a girl, William and Tami. James served in the Korean War early on in his 20s and when he returned he went to work in Nyssa at a local mechanic shop. Later he decided to become an Independent Contractor as a Custom Applicator working for Simplot until his retirement. James is survived by his son, William McMillen of Hermiston, Oregon, and daughter Tami Torres of Taos, New Mexico; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two older sisters, and wife Donna. Graveside services to be will be announced and held in Nyssa later this spring.
