Bio

Erby Huston Qualls Was raised in Story and attended Story and Mount Ida schools. At 19, he volunteered to serve in the Navy in WWII where he served basic training in San Diego and was shipped to the Philippines. In 1946 he returned to Story. Erby was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Edith Qualls, brothers Willis Qualls and Lonnie Qualls, sister. Delora Humphreys and nephew Randall Humphreys. He is survived by his wife, Shirley née Cox Qualls, two daughters and sons in law, five grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren; as well his sister, Lanora Gaston, of Hot Springs, Ar., along with four nieces and a nephew.
