The Winona Daily News: Winona, Minnesota, Thursday, November 15, 1990 Waunita Kinzie ST. PAUL, Minn. - Waunita Avonell (Smith) Kinzie, 80, of White Bear Care Center in White Bear Lake, Minn., died Monday (Nov. 12, 1990) at the care center. She was born Jan. 31, 1910, at La Crosse, Wis., to Earl John and Alice Lillian (Wilson) Smith. On Jan. 15, 1930, she married William James Kinzie in Winona. He died Oct. 19, 1990. Survivors include a son, James (Katherine) Kinzie of New Brighton, Minn.; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Hubert) McCahey of Arlington, Va., and Kay Eleanor Kinzie of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren, Sue, Mike, Carol, Jim, Kristy, and Mark; four great-grandchildren, John Patrick, Brian, Dan, and Vanessa; four brothers, Eldridge Smith of Winona, Dale and Warren Smith, both of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Roger Smith of Aitken, Minn.; three sisters, Sybil Kinstler of Winona, Lucile Roedeski of Deming, N.M., and Marjorie Hoech of Sparks, Nev. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mc Kinley United Methodist Church in Winona, the Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona. Friends may call at the church Friday after 12:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. Fawcett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
