John A Hope 12 July 1908 – 17 August 1966 Son of Boardman Edgar "Bodie" Hope and Handie Caroline Hamilton Pine Bluff Commercial Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas Thursday, August 18, 1966 John A. Hope, 58, of Prattsville, died Wednesday at a hospital here. Mr. Hope, a son of the late B. E. Hope and Handie Hamilton Hope, was born at Prattsville and attended schools there. He was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church at Prattsville. Surviving are two brothers, Sherman Hope of Prattsville and Ernest Hope of North Little Rock; and five sisters, Mrs. W. A. Pollard of Sheridan, Mrs. L. P. Venable of Plain Dealing, Louisiana , and Mrs. J. A. Scoggin, Mrs. H. T. Wingren and Mrs. R. P. Wicker, all of Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Harmony Baptist Church at Prattsville by Reverend Jackie L. Holt. Burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery by South Funeral Home of Pine Bluff. Pallbearers will be Joe Poe, Glynn Herrington, Lester Holiman, Roy Pumphrey and Billy Bean.
