Bio
The Belleville Telescope, Oct. 12, 1989 Roy E. Godden, son of John and Dora Herzfeld Godden, was born May 17, 1905, at Munden, and died October 2, 1989, at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville, at the age of 84 years, four months and 15 days. He received and eighth grade education for Republic County schools. He was united in marriage to Gladys Stephens Pucket, March 27, 1935. He was a farmer until his retirement. He was a former resident of Hubbell, and lived the last five years in Belleville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one step-son. He is survived by his wife of Belleville; two step-sons, Dwaine R. Pucket and Elbert LeRoy Pucker; one brother, Doyle of Lincoln, Neb.,; two sisters, Nattie Funke of Washington, Lillian Shimek of Chadron, Neb.; five step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 5 at Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel in Belleville. Interment was in Ida Cemetery.
