Jackie R. Kerr Marietta Monitor July 30, 1999 Submitted by: Martha N. Reddout Graveside services for Jackie R. Kerr of Thackerville were Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Officiating was Eric Hollar, a grandson. Born June 9, 1929, in Marietta, Mr. Kerr died July 26, 1999, at his residence at the age of 70. He was the son of Ernest and Inez Johnston Kerr. Mr. Kerr had lived at Thackerville since 1972. He and Peggy Edgar were married January 31, 1972, at Bowie, Texas. Mr. Kerr was a retired staff sergeant of the U.S. Air Force serving in Korea and Vietnam. He attended the Thackerville Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Peggy Kerr of the home; two sons, Steve Kerr of Thackerville and Jackie Wayne Kerr of Mineral Wells, Texas; a stepson, Ronnie Lemke of Thackerville; two daughters, JoAnn Viator and Paula Tate of Houston, Texas; two stepdaughters, Sandra Welch of Ardmore and Ann Hollar of San Marcos, Texas; a brother, Larry Kerr of Sand Springs, Texas; nine grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren. Mr. Kerr was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jimmy Kerr. Arrangements were under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were a U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers included Jerry Kerr, Jimmy Welch, Timmy Birdwell, David Kerr, Roy Bozeman and Russell Kretzschmar.
