Fort Bend Herald, October 7, 2009: In loving memory of a son, husband, father and grandfather. Dannel "Dan" Sidney Yockey was born March 2, 1952 in El Campo to William Alfred and Beatrice Mazoch Yockey. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his two boys and his grandson. Dan always kept busy and loved the outdoors. He not only enjoyed watching baseball, he also coached Little League teams. He went to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, in Sugar Land. Dan is survived by his loving wife of over 32 years, Cheryl Yockey; children, Dustin Yockey and fiancée, Alex, and Trey Yockey and wife, Beth; mother, Beatrice Yockey; grandson, Jake William Yockey; sisters, Renee Boutelle, Sharon Martinez and husband, Rick, and Roxane Roach and husband, Kenny; along with numerous other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Yockey. Funeral services for Dannel "Dan" Sidney Yockey, 57, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg. The Rev. Byron Williamson will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
