Bio
Lyle Howard Saddoris, son of Charles and Lena Marks Saddoris, was born January 9, 1909, in Clarke County and died July 16, 1999, at the Osceola Nursing and Rehab Center. He was 90. A lifetime resident of Clarke County, he attended rural schools. He worked as a farmer with his wife, Mabel Kelley Saddoris, whom he married April 29, 1934, at the Methodist Presbyterian parsonage in Osceola. Mr. Saddoris was an avid horseman and belonged to the Clarke County Sheriff's Posse, Odd Fellows Lodge of Osceola, Murray Saddle Club and was a life member of the Ottumwa Saddle Club. He was also a member of the Lacelle United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents,; a brother, Richard Saddoris and a sister, Juanita Mateer. Funeral services were July 19 at Kale Funeral Home, the Rev. Dwayne Henrichs of Thayer officiating. Loretta Carper, organist, accompanied Emil Rinderspacher as he sang. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. Osceola Sentinel, July 22, 1999
