JOHNNIE HEFNER SCHNERINGER Born December 20, 1916, in Hughes Springs, Texas, the daughter of Robert S. Hefner and Bessie Mullins Hefner, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2006, in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Schneringer graduated from Enloe High School and attended Cooper High School and Metropolitan Business College in Dallas. After working as a legal secretary in Dallas for many years, she worked 25 years for Johns-Manville Corporation, both in Houston, Texas, and its world headquarters in Denver, Colorado, retiring as Coordinator of Employee Benefits in 1979, when she moved to Paris, Texas. Mrs. Schneringer was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris and its New Era/Fellowship Sunday School Class, the XYZ Club, Friends of the Library, and the Paris Area Arts Alliance (PAAA). Survived by one son, Jim N. Schneringer of Dallas, a sister, Beulah Mae George of Dallas, grandchildren Cynthia Ann Cantrell and Jim L. Schneringer of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Michael Schneringer of Troy, Illinois, and Jim S. Schneringer of Shasta Lake, California, four great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Lee Schneringer, in 1968, a brother, Robert O. Hefner, in 1991, and her parents. Services for the immediate family were held on April 15 in the garden sanctuary at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas and she was laid to rest on April 17 next to her son, Dennis, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 322 Lamar Ave, Paris, Texas 75460.
