Bio
Christine Pelan of Columbus died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Lincoln. Christine was born August 11, 1964 in Lincoln, NE to James E. Kozak and Angie (Bialas) Ahrens. She grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1983. Chris was united in marriage to Steven Pelan on July 18, 1987 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church. Chris worked at CAMACO and provided daycare out of her home. Chris loved cooking, camping, gardening, shopping, crocheting, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church and St. Theresas Sodality. Chris taught PRE and served as an EME. She is survived by: Husband Steve Pelan of Columbus, NE Daughter Ashley (Ellen Phillips) Pelan of Denver, CO Son John Pelan of Bend, OR Mother Angie Ahrens of Columbus, NE Brother Jim (Jenny) Kozak of Arlington, NE Grandmother Leona Kozak of Columbus, NE Nephews Anthony and Samuel Kozak Many Nieces and Nephews on the Pelan side of the family She is preceded in death by: Father James Kozak Grandparents Emil and Helen Bialas Grandfather Alphonse Kozak Step-Father Leland Ahrens Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Victor and Irene Pelan Sister-in-law Margaret Valenti Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
