Wife of Oscar H. Capellen
Florence Mary Capellen, 93, a former long-time Klamath County resident, died Nov. 24, 2000, in Yankton, South Dakota. Mrs. Capellen was born in Silver Creek, Minnesota to Frank and Josephine (Fogel) Peterson. She was rasised in Minnesota and continued living there until moving to Oregon in the 1940s. While in Oregon, she met her future husband, Oscar Capellen, and, after their marriage, they took great pride in raising black Angus cattle on their ranch. Thirteen years ago, she moved to South Dakota. Mrs. Capellen loved dancing and flowers, and was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church in Yankton. Survivors include her companion, Roy Sorenson of Yankton; son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Mary Sutherland of Washougal, Wash.; son, Myron Sutherland of Sprague River; daughter, Judy Probst of Stockton, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Constance Allen; a grandson, Steven Sutherland; three brothers; and six sisters. Herald and News, Novermber 2000 Submitted by Jeanie Sawyer
