THE PARIS NEWS, Thu., Dec. 7, 1995, p.14A Mildred L. Garrett, 82, formerly of 305-28th NE, Paris, died at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1995, in Red River Health Care Center, Bogata. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct services at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the Providence Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the home of Butch and Margaret Moore, 6580 Pine Mill Rd. Mrs. Garrett was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Red River County, a daughter of Commie and Lena Stephens. She attended school in Red River County. On Sep. 30, 1933, she married Herschel Garrett in Clarksville. He died June 26, 1994. She was retired from St. Joseph's Hospital where she was a licensed vocational nurse. She was a member of Springlake Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Deward Garrett of Paris and Bruce Garrett of Roxton; three daughters, Betty Clark of Arlington, Sharon Fisher of Cooper and Margaret Moore of Reno; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Earl Stephens of Reno, Don Stephens of Napa, CA and Maurice Stephens of Medford, OR; and two sisters, Gail Smith of Vancouver, WA and Geneva Osgood of Medford, OR. She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, seven brothers and one sister.
