AUSTIN -- Jennie C. Holmquist, 97, of 200 First Ave. N.E., a former Oakland- area farm homemaker, died Sunday (June 4, 1995) at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin. Jennie C. Nasby was born Nov. 24, 1897, in Oakland Township, Freeborn County, and attended Oakland area schools and Austin High School. On June 11, 1930, she married Charles Holmquist at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. They owned and operated the Oakland Store until 1946 and then farmed in the Oakland area. After her husband's death in 1967, she lived in Albert Lea and Hayward before moving to Austin 20 years ago. Mrs. Holmquist was a member of Oakland Lutheran Church and the Comforcare Auxiliary. Survivors include two sisters, Valfreda (Mrs. Chester) Cronkhite of Oakland and Lulu Rolf of Austin; and two brothers, John Nasby of North Bend, Ore., and Norvin Nasby of Minneapolis. Seven brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Oakland Lutheran Church with the Rev. Russell Graef officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery near Oakland. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Thursday at the church. **************************************
