Nona Ellen Gibson Redd (1913 - 2014) A memorial service for Nona Ellen Gibson Redd, 101, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Eastview United Pentecostal Church. Her nephew, Reverend Anthony Mangun and her pastor, Reverend David Hunt will officiate. Burial for Mrs. Redd will preceded the memorial service at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015. Mrs. Redd was born January 22, 1913 in Ozios, Texas, the daughter of the late Eula Annie (Hudiburg) and Roy D. Gibson. She slipped into eternity on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in a local nursing facility. Mrs. Redd was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful friend, a woman of strong character and deep, sincere faith. She relished God's creation and loved the woods of deep East Texas, where she lived her entire life, working in her garden and serving others. Her life was full and long, she was a blessing to others, a true help in time of need. She was a 40 plus year member of Eastview United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law; son-in-law; grandchildren; grandson-in-law; and great-grandchildren; sisters, Vesta Layne Mangun of Alexandria, Louisiana and Nara Lee Wenrich of Dallas; brother, Clibborn Gibson and wife Virginia of Overland Park, Kansas; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Redd was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Clarence H. Redd; daughter, Gail Ramona Redd Torok; granddaughter, Michelle Bastas, brother, R D Gibson; sister-in-law, Evalee Gibson; nephews, Rayford Gibson and Michael Savant; and brother-in-law, Reverend G. A. Mangum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastview Pentecostal Church Building Fund in her memory.
