Rites for W.L. Harris Spoken Here Saturday Last rites for William Lee Harris, 58-year-old farmer of the Dawn community, who died in the Deaf Smith County Hospital here last Friday, were spoken Saturday at the Black Funeral Chapel. Burial was made in West Park Cemetery. Mrs. Harris was born near Altoona, Alabama, in 1874. He came to Texas at the age of 18, and except for a five-year residence near Fort Sumner, New Mexico, spent the remainder of his life in Texas, moving to Dawn in 1920. Surviving him are his widow, one brother, Cob Harrison [sic], three sisters, Carrie Saye, Pinkie Bynum and Dedie Mitchell, and 11 children. The children are Lessie Brown, Olie Brown, Gerdie Dafforn, Carrie Mae Doak, Ethel Williams, Vera Dodson, Jewel Harris, Ruby Harris, Lois Harris, Bernice Harris and William Harris. Mr. Harris had been in lil [sic] health for several years.
