Bio

Mr. Howell Wayne Hardin, age 88 of McKinney, Texas passed away on Thursday December 18, 2014, surrounded by his loving children at his residence in McKinney, Texas. He was born on October 3, 1926 in McKinney, Texas to Thomas Leslie and Maggie Lee (Wallace) Hardin. On April 7, 1950, he married Mary Ophelia McDearmon Hardin in McKinney, Texas. Mr. Hardin served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII. Howell was a fifty year Mason at St. Johns Masonic Lodge of McKinney, Texas; and was of Baptist faith. He was an avid sportsman. Mr. Hardin is survived by his three children, daughter, Kay Stevens and husband David of McKinney; daughter Peggy Jeffcoat and husband Tommy of Allen, son, Larry Hardin and wife, Cathy of Coppell, Texas; three grandsons, Chad Stevens of McKinney, Texas, Matt Jeffcoat of Dallas, Texas, Leslee Hardin of Coppell, Texas; and three great grandchildren Howell was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ophelia Hardin; sisters, Lucille Hardin Pell, Ruth Evans, Ola Wallis, and Bernice Weems; and brothers, Curtis, Elmer, Grady, Fay, Harry, Tommy Hardin and Calvin McCown A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Ridgeview Memorial Park with Tommy Jeffcoat and David Stevens officiating.Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convience on Saturday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
