Laddie C. Hajek, 86, of Shiner, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Yoakum Community Hospital in Yoakum, Texas. Laddie Hajek went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2014. He was born on July 4, 1928 in Shiner, Texas, always celebrating his birthday on Independence Day. During his years on earth, he was a farmer with a love for raising cows. He worked as a welder at Kasper Wire Works for over 37 years. He was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. He married Doris Seifert on October 24th, 1949. To this marriage, three children were born: Jo Ann Welch and her husband, Steve of Austin, Texas, Donald Hajek and his wife, Claudine of Shiner, Texas, and Patrick Hajek and his wife, Kim of Hallettsville, Texas. He has 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Stock of Sugarland, Texas, and sister-in-law, LaVerne Hajek of Victoria, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Olga (Janca) Hajek, one sister; Florene Stluka and her husband James Stluka; and most recently his brother, Marvin Hajek. Pallbearers for Mr. Hajek are; Matthew Seale (grandson), Marshall Hajek (grandson), Neal Hajek, Randy Stock, Walter Hand, and Harvey Dlouhy. Honorary pallbearers are the rest of his grandchildren; Shea Seale, Taylor Hajek, Tamara Hajek, Trevor Hajek, Madison Hajek, Kelly Steffek, and Kayla Brown, Rick Welch, and Elizabeth Welch. He is known for his great laugh which has been missed for the last few years and many to come. Interment will follow mass at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner, Texas. Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas.
