Tacoma News Tribune WORACEK, GEORGE A. pub 08 JAN 1998 A-6 dod 29-Dec-1997 George A. Woracek 1921 - 1997 George Woracek, age 76, a long time resident of Spanaway, died December 29, 1997 in Yuma, AZ. George was born April 16, 1921 in Sargent, NE, the son of Jacob and Mary Dansky Woracek. He was the youngest of 9 children. George served in the U.S. Naval Air Force during World War II. He married his wife of 52 years, Marie Smith, in Sanford, FL on May 3, 1945. In 1947 they settled in Spanaway, where they raised 3 daughters. George was a long time member of the Spanaway Methodist Church. He also belonged to the Tacoma Moose Club. George retired in 1980 after 34 years at ASARCO Tacoma Smelter. In 1990 he and Marie retired to Yuma, AZ. George was a loving and dedicated husband, father and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Marie; 3 daughters, Sandra Hunter and Karen Andersen, both of Gig Harbor, Joyce Woracek of Peoria, AZ; 2 brothers, Adolph Woracek of WA, Joseph Woracek of NE; a sister, Veronica Fennell, of Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Teri, Alisa and Matthew; and 2 great grandchildren, Tiffany and Michael. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 10th at Fir Lane Memorial Chapel in Spanaway, WA. Social Security Death Index Name: George A.
