Bio

Ethel June Minor, 70, of Moberly died Tuesday morning at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. She became ill while visiting a daughter. Born May 31, 1907, in Moberly, she was a daughter of Ralph Brown and Nora Cottingem Brown. Mrs. Minor had lived in Moberly her entire life. A former employee of the Brown Shoe Company and a cook at Whittaker Hospital, Mrs. Minor was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was married April 8, 1924, to William Joseph Minor, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Eugene Howard, Sugar Creek; Mrs. Marvin Hayes, Moberly; Mrs. Robert Raddick, and Mrs. John Longdon, both of Quincy; two sons, James Minor, Kansas City, and Kenneth Minor, Moberly; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Hannah, Kansas City; Mrs. Mattie Clark, state of Texas; Mrs. Marie Fristoe, Decatur, Ill., and Mrs. Vivian Gravitt, Moberly; one brother, Carl Brown, Moberly; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body is at Million and Greer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today.
