Jones, prominent farmer of community, passes away recently. - Thackerville Dec. 11 - Funeral services were held at the Baptist church here last Thursday,at 2 pm, for Will S. Jones, 66 years of age, who passed away at his home here. Services were conducted by Rev. W. P. Rowland, Marietta Baptist minister. W. S. Jones was born June 16, 1870 in Tennessee. His first wife passed away in 1915 and a year later he married Miss Julia Haynes, Addington Bend. The deceased, who was a well known farmer here, had been ill for two months. He was a member of the Baptist church and the Masonic Lodge, members of the latter taking charge of the grave at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, seven sons and one daughter: Zade, George, William, Jesse and Bonnie all of Thackerville, Briss of Crescent, Okla., Joe of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Loice Rhodes of Justin, Tx. Interment was in charge of the L. T. Burton funeral home, Marietta." (notes; Jessie was his oldest daughter, not a son) William was the son of David D. and Maggie Lee (Hellums) Jones. His first wife was Julia Emmaline (Shurbet) Jones,their children were: Millie, Jessie Pearl, David Brister, Daniel Zadus, George Henry, Charles C., Mellie, Joe Harvey, Lyndal T. and William Middleton Jones. His second wife was Julia May Jones, their children were Bonnie and Nancy Jones.
