Kingsley News-Times: Nov. 17, 1932: Page 1 Alpha D. Southwick was born in Jones county Iowa, January 31, 1859 and died at the Sacred Heart hospital in LeMars, Iowa, on November 7, 1932 aged 73 years, 9 months and 7 days. He leaves to mourn his loss, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Parry, of Kingsley, Iowa, one son, Eugene Southwick, of Meckling, South Dakota, and five grand children. Four brothers; J. W. Southwick, of Winterhaven, Florida, J. P. Southwick, of Kingsley, Iowa; 0. E. Southwick, of. Wilwaukee, Wisconsin and Z. L. Southwick, of Cherokee, Iowa. One brother, M. E. Southwick and two sisters, Iva Fitzgibbons and Emma Stiles, preceeded him in death. He was married to Mary Belle Bleasdell, February 14, 1883, and moved to Crawford county, where they lived one year, then moved to Plymouth county, where they lived on the same farm until the spring of 1911, when they moved to Kingsley, where he lived until his death. His wife preceeded him in death August 23rd, 1924.
