Bio

James Herbert Wallace was the son of Perry Irwin Wallace and Eleanor Josephine "Nellie" Cottrell. He married Lavenia Ore Gattis on May 13, 1900 in Cherokee County, Texas. They were the parents of five children - Clifford Hogan Wallace, Roy Herbert Wallace, Lois Wallace Burress, Ernest Carrol Wallace, and Garland Gattis Wallace. James Herbert Wallace was a depot agent and telegraph operator. He moved his family to Paradise, Wise County, Texas about 1916, and then to Ryan, Jefferson County, Oklahoma about 1932. After his death, his widow, Lavenia, and daughter, Lois, moved back to the family home in Paradise, Texas.
