Dorothy Wood Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend to many, Dorothy Marie Wood passed away peacefully in her sleep at Arlington Villa Skilled Nursing Center. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the daughter of Joe Hatcher and Ida Lilian Maxwell Hatcher. She graduated from Birdville High School in 1940. One of our nation's Rosie the Riveters during World War II, she lived a life full of love and experiences. Preceding her in death are her husband, Winston John Wood, and her son, Allen Patrick Wood. She is survived by four children: Danny Wood, Dianne Williams, Deborah Martin, and Ray Wood, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-five great grandchildren as well as one sister, Margie Castleman and sister-in-law Bonnie Hatcher. During her lifetime, Dorothy was known for many things, but one thing that seems to be at the forefront of each person's mind when her name is mentioned is her quilts. She loved making and giving them. She will be missed every single day without her, and her quilts will remind us of the love she shared with each of us. Add'l info provided by: Sandra Walker
