Bio

Irene Kolinek, 77, died August 4, 2005, at SPJST Nursing Home in Taylor. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 7, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of life services will be 10 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2005, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Hejl officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Irene Kolinek was born on June 19, 1928, in Taylor, Texas, to Louis and Marie (Meinen) Ihlenfeldt. She was married to Leroy Kolinek, Sr. on September 7, 1946, at the First Christian Church in Taylor. She was lovingly known as "Boots" or "Bootsie" by all of her friends and family. Irene was a member of the Taylor Brethren Church and the SPJST Lodge. She owned and operated Frame Switch Store for many years and also worked at Circleville Store. She also owned and operated TP Grocery. Bootsie was also known by many people when she worked for Hays Pharmacy before she retired. Her favorite pastimes were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved college sports, especially the Texas Longhorns. Bootsie will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leroy Kolinek, Sr., in 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Spinn and her husband, Charles, of Granger; her sons, Leroy H. Kolinek, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Taylor, Darrell Kolinek and wife, Linda, of Cedar Park, Randall Keith Kolinek and wife, Maria, of Taylor, and James Kolinek and wife, Shelly, of Taylor; sisters, Gladys Evans of Amsterdam, Ohio, and Alice Barron of Taylor; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Trey Kolinek, Travis Kolinek, Josh Kolinek, Matthew Kolinek, Chris Kolinek, and Don Farris. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Taylor Brethren Church in Irene "Bootsie" Kolinek's memory.
