Company C, 4th Alabama Regiment - Infantry Served under Captain Dawson and Colonel Jones, Hoods Division Enlisted 5th of May 1861 and served until the close of the war. Married Sarah Julia Davis on 18th day of December A.D. 1867 in the county of Carroll, Mississippi. Sarah was born in Winona, Mississippi and had resided in the State of Texas since 1881. Resided in Freestone County Texas in Teague since 24th of March 1881. Adkins, brother of our friend and neighbor, L. H. Adkins, of this place. We extend our sympathy to the family. -------------- DEATH OF MR A. ADKINS Passed Away last Sunday Night After a Long Illness Mr. A. Adkins, an old resident of Fairfield, died at his home here last Sunday night after a long and painful illness, of catarrh. His remains were interred in the Fairfield cemetery Monday evening, a large number of friends and relatives being present. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their loss.
