Paris News-August 14, 19 8 9 - Alton T. Wood,78, of Klondike died Sunday, August 13, at St. John 's Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Guille Siegler officiating. Burial will be in the Klondike Cemetery. Mr Wood was born July 21, 1911 at Enloe, a son of William Thomas and Orphan Traylor Wood..He was a retired maintenance engineer and was a veteran of World War II. On January 31, 1940, hue married Mary Lillian Trevillion. Surviving are his wife , three sons , Jerry Don Wood of Klondike, Donald Lane Wood of Greenville and John Thomas Wood of Balch Springs; one daughter, Janet Currin of Mabank; three brothers, William (Chester) Wood of Pottsboro, Robert Wood of Dallas and James Wood of Austin; five sisters, Agnes Robinson of Mabank, Helen Sealy, Neal Hickman, Doris Hutchinson and Mary Elizabeth Ellum, all of Pottsboro; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A brother Marvin Wood preceded him in death. The family will receive friends from 7p.m. to 9p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
