Conrad H. Eckhardt Feb 21,1911-Feb 20,2005 Conrad H. Eckhardt, 93, of Mitchell, died Feb. 20, 2005, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be Feb. 25, at Jones Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at the Mitchell Valley Cemetery south of Mitchell. Conrad was born February 21, 1911, on the family farm near Mitchell, the son of Fredrick and Anna (Greif) Eckhardt. He received his education at the Springer School and Mitchell High School. Conrad farmed with his father on the family farm in the Mitchell Valley area. He was united in marriage to Esther Zitterkopf, on October 17, 1942, in Harrisburg. The couple continued to farm in the Mitchell Valley until retiring in 1972. Conrad and Esther traveled extensively throughout the United States in their camper, including Alaska, but were not able to drive to Hawaii.He was a member of Emmanuel Congregational Church in Scottsbluff.He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Henry, Fredrick, Ernest, and Friedling, and four sisters, Elizabeth Hildreth, Margaret Cox, Frieda Ballew, and Anna Eckhardt.
