Bio

Rev. Alvis Hullett, age 90, died at St. Vincent's Downtown on October 27, 2014. Son of the late Waitus and Ethel Jackson Hullett, Alvis is also preceded in death by brothers, Vernon, JC, Quinton, and Vertis Hullett; and sister, Vera Hullett Jones. Mr. Hullett preached and pastored for 55 years. He was a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served in the US Army in World War Two and was a tank operator during the Battle of The Bulge. Bro. Randy Hale, Bro. Brian Weems, and Bro. Tyler Doty will officiate funeral services on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Rev. Alvis Hullett will lie in state at Lemley Funeral Home from 5PM until 8PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 and on Wednesday from 8AM until service time. [Long Family Funeral Homes obit via internet]
