*Published February 6, 2010 - The Courier Times, New Castle, IN Willie Sowers Jr., age 76, a resident of rural Middletown, IN, passed away Thursday in his residence. He was born January 31, 1934 in Knob Lick, KY, the son of the late Willie and Evelena Grissom Sowers. He was a Henry Co., IN resident most of his life and had resided in California for 18 years. He was very involved with his family's activities and loved sharing time with them. He loved horses his entire life, and was very skilled, and gifted in training and handling them. He enjoyed raising, training, showing and trail riding horses. He is survived by one daughter, Susan Dawn Sowers of New Castle, IN; two sons: Mark Sowers of rural Middletown, IN and Mike (Teresa) Sowers of New Castle, IN; four grandchildren: Daniele (Brad) Crone of New Lisbon, IN, Brandon Sowers of New Castle, IN, Holly Lee of OK and Tasha Sowers of New Castle, IN; two great-grandchildren: Tyler Daniel Moore and Kellie Rene Moore; two brothers: Howard (Linda) Sowers of Anderson, IN and Ronnie (Judy) Sowers of Cadiz, IN; his best friend, Michael (Bonnie) Jordan of New Castle, IN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Christopher Sowers; and a brother, Wade Sowers. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Monday at Macer-Hall Funeral Home in New Castle, IN. Graveside services will be at Knob Lick Cemetery, KY at a later date.
