GENE MOORE (17 July, 1931 - 23 October 2014) Gene Moore, 83, of Rosebud, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 in a Waco hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday Oct. 26, 2014 at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Don Fulton and Rev. Oscar Smart officiating. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud. Mr. Moore was born July 17, 1931 in DeLeon to Thomas and Mabel Rogers Moore. He grew up in DeLeon and married Barbara Jean Coan on February 13, 1954. He moved to the Rosebud area in 1975 and retired from General Tire and Rubber Company in Waco. He was a deacon at Cedar Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Moore of Rosebud. One son: Jeff Moore and wife Russ Ann of Waco. One daughter: Cheryl Jones and husband Mike of Magnolia. Two brothers: Thomas Moore and Gary Don Moore both of DeLeon. Two sisters: Sue Strube and Clara Ann Sanders, both of DeLeon. Five grandchildren: Amanda Burke, Trevor Jones, Casey Miller, Jessica Moore and Alyssa Moore. Memorial may be made to Cedar Springs Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the funeral home.
