Services for Donetia Marie Cason Griffith, 86, of Temple, will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2014, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Doctor Tom Henderson and Doctor Mark Grace officiating. Burial will at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28. Ms. Griffith died Thursday, October 23, 2014, in Temple. Ms. Griffith was born August 12, 1928 in Wellington, Texas to Floyd and Lena Blasingame Cason. Donetia married Glenn O. Griffith on July 7, 1943. She was employed as a Dental Therapist for the U.S. Civil Service at Ft. Hood for 15 years. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and the Director of the Woman’s Missionary Union. She was a member of the Girl Scouts of America, the Mid-Texas Dental Assistant’s Association, and the United Fund of Copperas Cove. Ms. Griffith was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, and a daughter, Glenda C. Griffith Sutton. She is survived by her sons, Garry F. Griffith and wife, Joy, and Kenneth D. Griffith and wife, Bobbi; daughter Cynthia J. Biehl and husband, John; brothers Wendell W. Cason and David F. Cason; and sister Dorothy Grace. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, October 27, at the funeral home.
