Bio
Services for Marvin L. Ivins, 70, of Palestine were held at Westwood Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Rachuig, Charles Grasty, Carl Lane and Harry Lucenay officiating. Burial followed in the Neches Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Ivins died at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born in Neches to Marvin Leroy and Floy Rice Perkins. Mrs. Ivins retired from Memorial Hospital after 21 years of service in the business office. She also did volunteer work for Dr. Daniel Gold and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Ivins is survived by her husband, J.R. Ivins Sr.; daughter, Shelia Prestridge; sons J.R. Ivins Jr., and Ernie Ivins ; sister Helen Lucenay and five grandchildren. (Obit: Palestine Herald Press 9/13/1999)
