Bio
Joan Marie Murdaugh, 89, passed away at St. Anthony Health Care on Wednesday, October 8, at 11:10 pm. She was born December 13, 1924 in Reynolds to the late Daniel Joseph Haysley and Mary Eugenia Herbillion. Joan's first marriage was to James Isaac Newgent on May 5, 1945, in Monticello, together they had nine children. They later divorced and she married Billy Lee Murdaugh on September 12, 1967 in Lafayette. He passed away September 25, 2006. All nine Newgent children adopted out at divorce. Survivors include Fred Leet,Linda Nichols, Richard Ivan Pixley, Mark Sprague, Leo Arthur Burnett, Elma Jo Hubanks & Patrick Laffey. Joan's deceased sons, John Thomas Little, decd, Louis Edward Rutledge, decd. Visitation will be form 12 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 13, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909.
