Sister Mary Ludgera, 70, teacher in parochial schools for the past 50 years, and a member of the Community of Poor Sisters of St. Francis, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital Tuesday. A native of North Bend, Neb," Sister Ludgera entered the community in 1888. She is survived by her brother, Rev. Juvenal Emanuel, O. F. M, Chicago; Sister Mary Eleanor, Hammond; Sister Mary Aquma, Nebraska, and cousin, Rev. Cyprian Emanuel, O. F. M., St. Louis, Mo. Services Friday at 8 a.m. at the convent chapel. Soller and Baker, funeral "directors. Journal and Courier Lafayette, Indiana · Thursday, February 17, 1944 -Sister M Ludgera was formerly known as Eleanore Katherine Emanuel. She entered the convent in Columbus, NE on December 8, 1888, and took her vows in Lafayette, IN on August 12, 1889.
