Bio

W. L. "Bill" Sypal, 92, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014. He was born in Brainard, Nebraska to Joseph and Adela Sypal. He was the fifth of seven children. Bill was an Army Air Force veteran of WW II. While in the service he married Jeanne Elbert of Omaha, Nebraska. Jeanne died in 1982 and in 1986 Bill married Alice Meier who died in 2011. After the war, Bill went into the insurance business in Omaha and transferred to Des Moines, Iowa to be the General Agent for The Kansas City Life Insurance Company. In 1961 Bill joined American Mutual (now Accordia Life) until he retired in 1987. Bill is survived by his son, Stephen Sypal (Cheryl); daughter, Deborah Sypal Nuss; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and three siblings. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Windsor Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid Iowa Council of the Boy Scouts of America or to the Animal Rescue League.
