Bio

Thanks to contributor #48796369 Mary Gancos, 74, of Pleasanton, died Thursday, May 31 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services were Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pleasanton. The Rev. Jan Smutny officiated. Burial was in Pleasanton Cemetery. The rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Rasmussen Mortuary of Ravenna was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gancos was born Feb. 10, 1916, in Sherman County to Frank and Mary Kusek. She married Albert Gancos at Loup City on Feb. 22, 1938. The couple farmed near Litchfield before they moved to Pleasanton. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, Albert of Pleasanton; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Lillian) Kowalski of Kearney, Mrs. Ron (Pat) Benisek of Ravenna, Mrs. Delwyn (Bobbie) Beck of Litchfield, and Mrs. Ed (Mary Ann) Zwiener of Pleasanton; two sons, Tom and Jerry Gancos, both of Kearney; 22 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one granddaughter.
