Van Alstyne Leader March 21, 1985 - Page 3 Services for Jerry Isaiah Valdivia, 52, of Van Alstyne will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Flesher Funeral Home with burial in Van Alstyne Cemetery. The Rev. Benton Brown and the Rev. Scott Jordan will officiate. Mr. Valdivia died Monday in St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. He was born in New Orleans, La., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Valdivia, and was employed by the Gulf Corp. He was a member of the Garden Oaks Baptist Church in Houston. A son of missionary parents, Mr. Valdivia spent his first 15 years in Chile. He graduated from high school in Harlingen and took a business administration degree from A&I University in Kingsville. During the Korean conflict, he was stationed in Germany. Surviving is his wife, Marilyn Valdivia; son, Douglas Valdivia of Houston; mother, Mrs. Oline Valdivia of Van Alstyne; and sister, Caroline Hillyer of Fort Worth.
