Bio

Virginia M. Reisdorff, 90, of Tulare, SD, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield (South Dakota). Her funeral will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Tulare United Church. Pastor Lorah Houser-Jankord will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus, NE on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Virginia was born on July 3, 1924 on a farm near Creston, NE to Roy and Ethel (Postal) Lake, the fourth of six children. Virginia married John Reisdorff on May 12, 1948 in Columbus, NE. They moved to SD in April of 1952 and she lived in the communities of Ashton, Mellette, Tulare and Redfield. Virginia always had a huge garden while living on the farm and when they moved into Tulare. She always shared lots of tomatoes with everyone. She was an avid fan of Nebraska Cornhuskers football, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. She loved her CBS soap operas. Virginia is survived by her three children: Marsha (John) Dahl of Watertown, SD; Pam Horst of Platte City, MO and John Reisdorff, Jr. of Harold, SD. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Jamie (Eddie) Zertuche, Liz Reisdorff and Becky (Tory) Engel; and seven great grandchildren: Melody Reisdorff, Future Zertuche, Trisha Residorff and Evan, Ashley, Owen and Amy Engel along with a special "adopted" grandchild Alexander Quillan and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John, in 1993, an infant son Clifford, one grandson Samuel and her siblings: Robert and Evelyn Lake, Everett and Alice Lake, Berniece Hollman and Leonard Hollmann, Betty and Harold Neemeyer and Peg and Earl Rosenberry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
