Bio

Beulah Alice Woodard was born on March 13, 1924 in Lisbon, Texas (Dallas County) to Luther D. and Mary C. Batson and passed from this life at 8:56 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014 at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 11 days. Beulah married James Austin Woodard on Oct. 15, 1940 and was blessed with four daughters; Mary Ida Williams, Ruth Jewell Puskar, Shirley Ann Wilson and Linda Faye Furtick. Beulah accepted Christ in 1936 at the Marsalis Baptist Church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Red Oak. Beulah was a seamstress at Haggar, retiring in 1975. She was very talented and creative. She enjoyed sewing and working with anything crafty. She lived life to the fullest enjoying her family and friends every day. Beulah is survived by her husband, James Austin Woodard; sisters, Ida Faye Hardin and husband J.L., Mary Frances Crawford; brother, Luther D. (Buddy) Batson and wife Barbara; daughters, Mary Ida Williams, Ruth Jewell Puskar and husband Al, Shirley Ann Wilson and Husband J.C., Linda Faye Furtick and husband Buel Ray; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Don Ricks and Bro. Delbert Vest officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
